SelfDesign Learning Community (K-9) – Program Overview
The SelfDesign Distributed Learning Community (SDLC) offers the following support for learners aged 5-14 (grades K-9):
- A dedicated learning consultant (B.C. certified teacher) who works directly with you and your child(ren) throughout the entire learning year
- A learner-centric process for planning, observing and documenting learning as it arises for each learner
- An online community where you can journal your learning experiences, connect to parents and learners with shared interests, collaborate with your child’s learning consultant and engage in life-enriching exchanges with like-minded individuals
- A Learning Investment that you can use to purchase resources and support your child(ren)’s learning interests and activities.
- Learning Circles/Centres where you can augment your child(ren)’s learning with activities in our physical centres.
- Gateways for Learners ages 13 & 14. Optional programs and activities that provide special support and guidance to this age group as they prepare for the opportunities and challenges of high school and beyond.
