Learning Centres/Circles are an extension of our online distributed learning community, providing learners and families with additional learning opportunities activities in your local community. The development of each non-profit, child-centred Learning Centre/Circle is supported by SelfDesign in response to requests from within our learning community.
With an awareness that a child’s learning is rooted at home in the loving guidance of engaged parents, SelfDesign supports the growth of that learning through Learning Centres and Learning Circles. These Centres/Circles will involve the people and resources in home communities to bring to life in a meaningful way the individual Learning Plans of each learner.
A child’s learning environment is enriched when supported by the people and places and natural environment where that child lives.
At the community level … where neighbours live, work, and play … immersion in human, physical, and natural resources facilitates education of the whole child. Learning in community allows for unlimited potential for mentorship, teamwork, and interpersonal connection.
