2012: SelfDesign Learning Foundation is very pleased to announce the launch of the SelfDesign Graduate Institute.

2011: SelfDesign confirmed as an accredited institution by AdvancED and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).

2010 – Doctorate of Education awarded to Brent Cameron at UBC for his dissertation titled ‘An Inquiry Into SelfDesign as Authentic Learning and Co-Inspiration

2007 – 1st place publication award to SelfDesign: Nurturing Genius Through Natural Learning (Sentient Pub), awarded by Neurobiological Learning Society, Hawaii

2006 – ‘Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence – Certificate of Achievement’, to Brent Cameron, Kathleen Forsythe and Michael Maser, for SelfDesign Learning Community

2006 – publication of the book by Brent Cameron and Barbara Meyer – SelfDesign: Nurturing Genius Through Natural Learning (Sentient Publishers, Boulder)

2005 – Brent Cameron achieved candidacy for his Ph.D. at UBC for his work in SelfDesign

1996 – CMHC – Award for VillageQuest Sustainable Community Design with architect Stanley King

1996 – UNESCO – Canada Best Practice Award for sustainable community project – VillageQuest

1996 – VanCity Environmental Youth Award for the work towards developing a model of a sustainable community – VillageQuest

1996 – Master’s Degree awarded to Michael Maser at SFU for a thesis focusing on Virtual High and an ecology of being.

1995 – Knowledge Network – Apple Computer – Dotto on Data – Computer Video-Animation Competition – First Place – Ilana Cameron and Kate Mangan

1991 – ‘Marshall McLuhan Distinguished Teacher Award’ to Brent Cameron for the founding of Wondertree and educational software development.

1989 and 1991 – ‘Northern Telecom National Award’ – for the development of the computer program “Map of Distinctions” (1989) and for the development of The Power Smart Game (1991)

1990 – Master’s Degree awarded to Brent Cameron at SFU for a thesis focusing on Wondertree and Natural Learning
