We did it! YOU did it! Our first-ever virtual Gateways Camp is now in the record book, and with the help of a lot of funny, creative, enthusiastic “campers” it was successful and memorable for all participants.
Spanning three days last week, our camp for learners 12-14 years, brought kids together from throughout the province to connect and share interests, learn crafts, tell stories, craft a song and even bounce along on a ‘virtual canoe ride’. There might not have been bugs or woodsmoke but it was pretty zany! Camp counselors, Suzanne Tompkins and Michael Maser, also enjoyed it from start to finish and pledged to help lead another one, which was the rallying cry when the embers from our ‘closing campfire’ died down.
