Inclusion, Diversity,
Equity and Accessibility

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) at SelfDesign Learning Foundation

For SelfDesign, being accessible means creating learning and working environments that allow everyone to fully participate.

As we work to create a more accessible community, we have updated our Accessibility Plan for SelfDesign. This plan is a living blueprint that identifies needs, priorities, and actions for 2026-2029.

What we are doing

Since publishing our first Accessibility Plan in 2023, SelfDesign has made meaningful progress in advancing accessibility across the organization. Our IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) work is becoming increasingly embedded in how we lead, communicate and support our community. From strengthening governance and developing new policies to expanding education and improving digital accessibility, these accomplishments reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive learning and working environment.

While we will continue pursuing many opportunities to improve accessibility across our community, the following priorities represent the areas where we will focus our efforts from 2026-2029.

Based on what we heard from our community, our three primary areas of focus are:

  1. TECHNOLOGY
  2. EDUCATION & AWARENESS
  3. ACCOUNTABILITY

While these three priorities above will receive our greatest focus over the next three years, we will continue advancing several additional areas that are essential to creating a more accessible, inclusive and equitable community.
