Celebrating 40 years of lifelong learning

The launch of SelfDesign’s 40th anniversary is here, and we’re thrilled to kick off the festivities with you!

Forty years ago, our founder, Brent Cameron, incorporated SelfDesign Learning Foundation as a charity in British Columbia. He believed that learning is unlimited, ageless and continuous and that it should be a personalized experience for children.

For the last four decades, we’ve guided contractors, educators, board members, learners and families to follow the beat of their own educational drums, encouraging them to explore their interests and passions.

Celebrating 40 years of lifelong learning is huge, and we can’t do it without your help!

In addition to the new webpage and our exciting announcements below, we’ll be sharing special 40th anniversary stories on our blog. We’re also preparing a video and commemorative book to be launched later this year.

 

Enter our monthly giveaway on social media!

From January to July 2024, each month we are giving away valuable gift certificates to places where kids can enjoy unique learning experiences, bookstores or to places they can get learning supplies that will help them pursue their passions.

We’ll also be giving away beautiful and inspiring 40th anniversary items like book bags, mugs, laptop covers, stickers, magnets, water bottles and more. PLUS, each giveaway will include $100 credit to our HomeLearners Network program to enrich your child’s educational journey with fun hands-on and engaging learning activities led by passionate educators.

The story of SelfDesign is the story of people following their passions, and we can’t tell the story of SelfDesign without telling the story of its people. If you have been part of SelfDesign in any way over the years, please get in touch to share your story!
