These activities are perfect for kids who love art, science, coding or crafting. Whether it’s journaling adventures, learning new craft skills, experimenting with science magic, or exploring computer coding, we’re here to spark curiosity and imagination!

📓 Journal Buddies with Alecyn: January 7 (3 sessions)

    • Ages 7-9

Your kiddo will craft and decorate a special journal and do weekly journal prompts that incorporate writing and art. Learn about paper collage, explore art techniques, and practice writing funny new stories each week.

    • Ages 10-15

Your kids will get energized by the dazzling artworks of Maria Siblla, Louise Nevelson, Coco Chanel and Niki de Saint Phalle! Learn about the mark these women made on art history and create art inspired by their work.

🟩 Minecraft Education: Coding with Heather: January 8 (4 sessions)

    • Ages 11-15

Your kid will join their teammates to solve fun coding puzzles by playing Minecraft Education. Using their problem solving and coding coding to navigate different new challenges every week!

🧶 Cozy Crafters Club with Jenn: January 9 (4 sessions)

    • Ages 8-14

If your kiddo loves to craft, this is the perfect Series for them! They’ll learn to knit, sew, embroider and crochet – the perfect ways to cozy up on a chilly day!

📗 Make a Fabric Book with Amber: January 9 (4 sessions)

    • Ages 9-15

Your kiddo will learn techniques to bind a book made out of fabric and fill the pages with their own stories and ideas. Embellish the pages with stitches, buttons, beads or any other decorative elements.

🧮 STEAM (science, technology, engineering and math) Magicians: Density Experiments with Alecyn: January 9

    • Ages 8-11

Check out the magic of buoyancy, density and mass in this awesome science activity! Your kiddo will use the power of scientific principles to learn magic tricks!

🚂 Create your own Sensory Toys with Corrina: January 13 (2 sessions)

    • Ages 4-8

Sensory toys are great tools to assist your kiddo in developing their creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills. In this activity, they’ll have a blast learning to make their own.

    • Ages 11-13

Your kid will learn the science of printmaking using air, water, foam and lots of colour! They’ll create awesome prints as unique as they are!

    • Ages 4-7

Create bracelets that hold secret messages! Your kid will engage in learning the very special and highly important computer language, binary code! Then put their knowledge to the test by making a binary code bracelet!

☺️ Living Life to the Full with the Canadian Mental Health Association: January 31 (8 sessions)

    • Ages 13-18

Your teen will love this interactive Series, where they’ll learn how to feel more confident, happier, and better equipped to understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This activity is only available for SelfDesign Learning Community learners.
